Welcome to Tampa Adventist Academy!
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Tampa Adventist Academy (TAA). TAA is committed to providing a rigorous academic education in a supportive and positive Christian environment for our students. The early years of a child’s life are considered the formative years. This is the time when character, standards, and attitudes are developed. With this in mind, we strive to facilitate a young person’s development in a Christian atmosphere. The goal of the curriculum is help each child find his/her full potential in every area of development: the spiritual, social/emotional, cognitive and physical.
Glen Baker, Ed.D
Adventist education first began in the Tampa area with the establishment of the first church school in the 1890’s. However, it wasn’t until 1917 that Adventist education began in earnest with the establishment of a small school that would develop into Tampa Adventist Academy (TAA). The school has over a ninety year history as being a center for providing quality Christian education that seeks to develop young people of character. Located in Tampa, Florida, the school continues to serve approximately 150 students in grades K-10 from the greater Tampa community. The student and staff population is richly diverse which provides a wonderful environment that promotes cultural diversity and understanding. Students comfortably interact in a positive, challenging and supportive educational environment. The school is a place where students excel academically, spiritually, and personally, where life-long friendships are developed and faith is cherished.
Many things have changed over the past years including the styles of student dress, the kinds of cars that are driven, the courses that are offered, the way classes are taught, and yet one thing has always remained the same----the constant commitment to offering the best that a quality academic and Christian education provides.
TAA is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is part of the largest Protestant educational system in the world. The school is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSACESS), The National Council for Private Schools Association (NCPSA), and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities, Inc.
